Happy 7 month birthday! This picture was taken on January 29th. I usually mix fruit with David's cereal in the morning because he doesn't really like it plain now that he gets lots of different flavors. Blueberry is his favorite!
He has learned so many new things in the last month and even in the last week that I hope I have everything up to date. Including that he is no longer toothless!

He loves having baths and needs them on a regular basis. He is a very good sitter so I no longer need to hold his arm. He even likes to crawl and lay on his tummy while in the water. And of coarse mommy is right by his side in case he gets a mouthful of water.

On Thursday we saw his pediatrician to make sure he has a healthy heart and everything looks great, though he is going to keep a close eye on him just because of a family history of childhood heart problems. He weighed 18 lbs 9 1/2 oz and measured 28 1/2 inches long. This means we had to get him a new car seat and he is quite enjoying the extra space.

This week he started pulling himself up to stand on anything he can get his hands on. Usually the couch but even if there is a shoebox on the floor he will stand pushing up on that. If there is nothing to grab he sometimes goes from crawling to standing like a bear with arms and legs straight but he doesn't walk like that (so far anyway). He takes steps when you hold his hands but he is still really wobbly so we don't try that much.

Enjoying his first blueberries earlier in the week.

He now has two bottom teeth which are very cute, if I ever catch a picture of them I will be sure to post it. Monday night he slept all night so that was wonderful. We will continue to help him learn healthy sleep patterns but he is off to a good start. He is making "mom" and "dada" sounds and it seems he knows who is who. I thought that wasn't the case yet but I was reading that is feasible for an advance 7 month baby so I am now believing it to be true. When I leave the room "mom" among lots of "m" sounds are soon to follow.

CRAWLING

Silent Night is not what we are having. Last night we started the process of letting David cry himself to sleep. Six months is supposed to be the right age to do it and it is only suppost to take about a week for most babies. We are basically up all night reasuring him that he's okay, he just needs to learn how to fall back asleep on his own so that he is not needing to always nurse to fall back asleep. We are exausted from last night and not looking forward to tonight but hopefully it doesn't take him long to figure this out. In this picture he is attempting a nap with his dog Goliath.
Squash is David's newest vegetable. I think peas will be the next one he tries. Right now he is eating combinations of everything we have given him so far. Here he is with remenats of green beans on his face. Tonight he had green beans and carrot mixed with sweet potato.
Last night he crawled FORWARD for the first time!
Here he is nice and clean after his bath. As his hair gets longer it seems to be curling, especially after it has been washed. He loves his bath time and plays with the bath toys he got for Christmas.

Favorite Food

David has been eatting baby cereal since the beginning of December. Just after Christmas he started eating baby cookies and last week he started vegetables. Here he is eating green beans, the first vegetable he tried. Second he had sweet potato and third carrots which has been his favorite so far. He has reacted well to all of them and this week he will be trying some more.
Here he is shopping for the yummy foods he likes to make. The green beans were fom a jar but the sweet potato and carrot I made in the blender and then froze in an ice cube tray.

Mobile Little Man

Here's David on Monday helping Mama with the laundry. We have to go outside and through our landlords garage to do laundry and he is pretty good about entertaining himself while I put a load in but by the third load he wanted to come with me so I he did.
He also like to help me fold the laundry.

This was taken on Saturday. He figured out how to get into the video cabnet so we not have a wooden spoon through the handles... very decorative!
And here he is in crawling possition. He started crawling backwards about 8 days ago and he is starting to make some attempts to go forwards but no luck so far. He definately gets around!

6 months old!

On December 29th David turned 6 months old! We can hardly believe it. On his birthday we got a family picture taken and we also had him weighed. He is 17 lbs 13.5oz. He is doing well developmentally though he has had a bad cold this past week and we had to give him cough medicine for the first time. He can now get up on his hands and knees and rock back and forth. Still no teeth but we read Jonathan's baby calendar and he got his first teeth at 6 1/2 months. Also Jonathan was crawling at 7 months so it looks like that might be the case for David too.
It's hard to believe that in another 6 months we will be celebrating his first birthday. Time is going by fast. Hope you enjoy these new pictures as well as our Christmas updates.

Our Christmas' 2006

Here is David opening one of the many gifts he received this Christmas. Our Christmasing began on the 24th as is tradition with Grandma and Grandpa Unger.

Here's mommy and daddy the same night.

Here we are after enjoying turkey dinner number one of four turkey dinners we had this Christmas. All of which were lovely so thank you to all the cooks!

Here is David fast asleep on Great Grandpa and Grandma's floor, exausted from all the excitement. We all spent the night as is also tradition and had a "lovely" time.

David was examining mommy's empty sock early Christmas morning not long before we left for the Island.

Here he is after arriving at Grandpa Brent's early Christmas afternoon. After opening some gifts we enjoyed Christmas dinner at Uncle Ches and Aunty Linda's (turkey dinner number two).

Baby Rudolf on Boxing Day at Nana and Papa's where we enjoyed turkey dinner number three. Turkey dinner number four took place at Grandpa Brent's on December 30th. We enjoyed a fondu on the 31st at my mom's and we headed back to the mainland early New Years Day. So, that is our Christmas' in a nutchell.
