Joshua,
your name has been a favourite of ours since we first started choosing baby names more then 10 years ago. Along with the significance of its meaning we are also reminded of Joshua's declaration found in Joshua 24:15 which is the very same declaration we are making today "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord."
We thank God for the gift you are to us and the joy you bring to our family. We pray that your knowledge of the scriptures, your faith and you love for God will grow as you grow. That when the time comes and you find yourself at a crossroad your declaration would also be "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord."
The scripture we have chosen for your dedication is God's commissioning of Joshua (Joshua 1:7-9).
"Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this book of the law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
Be Strong and Courageous son, and may the Lord your God be with you wherever you go.
