35 Weeks

35 weeks (or 36 weeks) is here... depending on which due date you follow... and February is almost here (for that I am very glad). Saturday I had false labour all day. It felt exactly like the beginning of my labour with David so I just had to wait and see if it would progress or not and it didn't. All the pre-labour symptoms are helping prepare my body for labour so I don't really mind it... it's more uncomfortable then painful. It just leave me wondering if today is t he day, or tomorrow, or the next day. etc...
At 35 weeks the average baby weighs 5 1/2 lbs. I have my next appointment on Wednesday... and every Wednesday after that until Noah is born. He is still moving lots and I think he has turned so that his back is against my tummy so hopefully he stays that way until birth. David was turned the other way which is mainly why I ended up with a c-section last time. (I will add a picture later today of myself if we take one).

Little bit of an update on David. He has been slightly fevered since Saturday. We don't know if his molars are coming in or if he has a bit of a virus. He hasn't been himself and he hardly slept Saturday night. Last night he slept better (though he stayed in bed with mommy) and this morning he has been playing more then he did all of yesterday. So I think he is on the mend and hopefully it doesn't take long.

Jonathan and David...

Karen brought out Jonathan's baby calendar again and we had a look to see what similarities and differences they had at 18 months. They weighed virtually the same Jonathan 24 lbs and David just under 25lbs. Height is quite different. Jonathan was 31 inches tall at 18 months and David is 34 1/2... she he just might have the "Pitts" height after all. They were saying about the same amount of words though Jonathan said "Hi" and "No" where David waves "Bye-Bye" and says "Yes" and "Please." Both reached more independent stages having "minds of their own." It's kind of neat to be able to look back and compare.

Right now we feel like David is changing everyday. He has been sleeping through the night most nights with out waking for a bottle. He now uses a booster seat and joins us at the table instead of using his high chair (he was kicking his tray off so we had to make the switch). He has been trying very hard to jump though it's more of a knee bend as his feet don't quite get off the ground. And he is very independent! He attempts putting on socks and shoes and helps get himself undressed.

David's 18 month check up

David's 18 month check up went really well. He weights just under 25 lbs and is 34 1/2 inches tall, which Dr. Farmer said is tall for his age. He has 4 needles and cried but was consoled with a sucker and did very well the rest of the day. He is using words more often and now answers "YES" when asked "do you want..." or he shakes his head for "no." He used to say please when asked if he would like something but now only used it for independent requests so we are working on "yes, please." Other then Mom and Dad he says "What?" and "This" or "What this?" and occasionally surprises us with a few random words.

33 Weeks

We are now into our 33rd week of pregnancy (possibly 34th) and things are continuing to go well. We spent the day at the hospital and had 3 of our 4 appointments. We didn't end up getting to see the doctor from NICU so they have rescheduled for this Monday. First we had our ultrasound... the one and only highlight of the day. The technician said that Noah is doing surprisingly well for a Trisomy 13 baby. They measures him and estimate his weight to be 4lbs 7oz. This is only 7ounces smaller then what I weighed at birth. There are still some major concerns with his heart and we don't know how well his brain has formed but other then that and a few extra fingers and toes he is well formed.
We got some infromtation from the hospital social worker and I will be meeting with her again next week. Other then that MFM checked my blood pressure and height of fondus and all is well. Just wanted to give the update because I know many of you have been waiting to hear about our appointments.

Steveston

Saturday was a beautiful day and Karen and I took David to Steveston. While we were there I bought him a helium balloon. I took a video of him playing with it so I can hopefully post that later this week... he loved it and it was amazing how much fun he had. It amused him for the rest of the day and it only cost $1.40!

32 Week Appointment

We had our 32 week appointment today so I just wanted to give a quick update. My pregnancy continues to progress normally. Noah's heart rate continues to be normal along with my measurements. Actually this week we measured slightly bigger and I am beginning to wonder if this is actually my 33rd week (as originally predicted). Either way Noah will be here soon. I'm guessing 4-6 weeks. If Noah goes to term I wouldn't be surprised if he weighs over 8lbs. We are still planning for a natural birth and Noah is currently head down which is always a plus. The doctor said his head is quite low and you can see from the pictures in my last post that I am carrying lower then I carried David. Next week we will see more specialists in order to be better prepared for his birth.

31 Week Comparison... 32 Weeks Pregnant

Both of these pictures were taken during my 31st week of pregnancy. The above picture is me pregnant with David and below was last week with Noah. I think they are fairly similar, though I seem to be carrying Noah a little bit lower. Anyway just thought it would be fun to make the comparison. Today I am 32 weeks pregnant which means Noah should weigh almost 4lbs and measure 19 inches. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow so I will post any new information then.
